Cat2 is spotted using her tail to support herself so that she can reach her lower back. Clever hor? I think she's a genius!

9th Apr 2009. Thursday Evening. I must say the last 2hrs was the longest in my entire working life. Feels like 2 solid years, just waiting for the time to pass. Finally the time has come and I was on my way back! Saw cat2 waiting for me at the void deck, she looks kinda of cold, must the the heavy down pour in the afternoon. If I have waited for 2yrs, she mus have waited for 24yrs (according to cats to human years conversion chart)

3rd Apr 2009. Friday morning. Noticed a new addition to the community. A mother cat & her kitten just moved in recently. Here's a pic of the mom on her new bike.. Grrrrr stay away from my bike!! hehehhh

They have the same facial features, a white body and coloured tail. The kitten is rather playful =D

Mommy is cautious when I'm near by, but kitten isn't bothered by my presence. Ok I share not disturb them, off to work now!

9th Feb 2008. Monday. Back to work again. Early in the morning, cat2 cleaning herself after a sumptuous meal. I squatted down and say "meow meow" to her. She's quite friendly today and actually "meow" me back and came towards me for me to sayang her :D

Here she is cleaning her tail, it's interesting to see her lifting her tail with both her front paws. I guess she couldn't bend all the way to reach her tail, cos her tummy is in the way hahahah

Dong2 went back home for CNY, Meng2 not joining, Hui2 not in, leaving just 4 of us, Han2, Jing2, Wow2 & me.. w/o our "lunch leader" we were rather lost as to where we were heading.. Finally we decided on hawker and marched our way there. "FORWARD MARCH! LEFT RIGHT, LEFT RIGHT, LEFT RIGHT!"

14th Jan 2009, Wed. Many ppl around me are sick. The virus is spreading... Take care everybody. Today, cat2 is slping on the sandy area again. Most of the time she is half aslp. Whenever she senses someone or something approaching, she will "peer" through her eyelids to check it out...

Afternoon, we went to red coffee shop for lunch. On our way back, cat2 is still slping, but I think she turned and tossed a few time before falling aslp cos she changed her position. Usually when I can't fall aslp at nite, I will turn & slp in the opposite direction (legs & head position swapped), and within minutes I will be in la la land.. ZZZzzz.... Try it out, it really works!

Her posture is rather interesting, her black tipped tail is in between her hind legs, just like bolster pillow, Hehehehhh actually I also use one myself *shy* *

23 Dec 2008. Windy Tuesday morning. Today I wanted to take a picture with cat2 before the long holiday... Oh mann, I'm really gonna miss her!

While I was "sayang-ing" cat2, yang2 came out of nowhere stamping his feet and scared BOTH of us!!!!!!!!! Cat2 cried "meow" and ran for safety, I cried "meeeeeow.." but stood frozen.. for a split second, I thought I'm the cat.. a split second later, my conscious took over again.. hey I'm nt the cat, I'm not suppose to be frightened by humans... lol

That's why there is a saying 近朱者赤近墨者黑 (jìn zhū zhĕ chì jìn mò zhĕ hēi). In my case, I would like to modify it to 近猫者 meow! Wahahahaha!

19th Dec 2008. Friday. What a beautiful day for work :D.. Saw cat2 cleaning herself on her favourite bench, should be after her breakfast. There are actually 2 benches at the block, cat2's one is the one on the left. The one on the right is always occupied by an uncle every morning dreaming away... I wonder why he always wear the same white color tee?

Do you know how many colors does cat2 have? Let me count, errrr I see white color at her neck, belly & paws. Btw her white colored paws are known as mittens because they look like white gloves. Cool huh, I like mittens cos they look really nice & clean. Ok next, there's also some tiger strips color patches on her body & back. They are actually combination of orange and black colors.

So that's it! There are 3 colors, so cat2 is a tri-core.. i mean tri-color cat :D

All of us have lots of fun, merry making, playing the foosball, Wii Boxing (esp Dong2 =P), card game, and the sumptuous Christmas dinner & goodie bags! On my way home, saw this community cat. He looks funny. Maybe he jus woke up or maybe he has a bad hair day? Can't be, oh I know, he has a mane! Haha! Just like a lion! Hmm..

Ever wonder what does the mane do?

Is it to keep himself warm?
Is it to be folded and used like a pillow when sleeping? =P
Is it to protect his throat during fights? Else injured cannot roar liao.
Or is it to look cool when running (just like shampoo commercial) & attract the females? Kekekekk

I did a search on Google, and seems like most scientist did not agree to the exact purpose of a lion's mane. Based on First Science.. "After studying 19 lions in zoos across the United States covering a variety of climates, the researchers found that there was a correlation between mane variation and temperature, most significantly in cold weather where manes were seen to change the most. "

Not bad hor, scientist also got perform correlation, so their study is accurate one Haha

15th Dec 2008. Monday. Slight drizzle. I'm back! Long time didn't see cat2 liao. Missed her mann! Early morning saw her sediya (standing at attention) like nation day like tat, waiting for President to inspect the soldiers HEHEHHH. As I approached cat2, she greeted me. She said "Meeow!"

Lunch time, went to the newly renovated green coffeeshop. Looks good, place is clean, new stalls, new tables & chairs, very very friendly staff, nice food (Zhu Zhar Tang is nice according to wow2 & dong2) & they finally got rid of the funny fan that blows water droplets into our food hahaha. Why would ppl install those in the first place???

Everything is perfect.. until I found out that... MY FAVOURITE PORRIDGE STALL! NO MORE! GONE! VANISHED! CLOSED DOWN! LIKE LEHMAN COLLAPSED LIAO!!!!!! Haiz.. we should treasure the ppl ard us when they are ard. Sorry, me getting old, start to nag too much hahahaha! Heard that some of us are getting rich coming January 15..

On our way back, saw cat2 slping soundly, must have a full lunch. Noticed her craws quite long. "Wah she never cut her nails" Later wow2 told me cat2 maintain her nails by scratching a certain tree. Nxt time got chance will take pic, jus hope she don scratch my face by mistake =D

Evening. Went to Funan centre. 12.15.2008 is the day I stood still...

8th Dec 2008. My 1st post in Dec. It's been a week since I last saw cat2. Luckily Wow2 got update Super Cat Style. ~Thanks3!

Went to Vivo today, was at Page One Bookshop browsing some books. On my way out, this book caught my eyes. The Sidewalk Beauty... Wah Chio Ah!!! *Drooling~ Sorry this is army lingo =P

I did a quick flip and found that the book is a collection of photos on cats. Hmm.. the pictures looks familiar le, the background sei sei, the looks on the cats bery the Dao.. Oh, it's the tipped ear! I realised that these are pictures of Singapore cats and they are taken by photographer Bian HuiBin. Wow professional photographers also take cat photos! The pictures are stunning and puts my 2M pixel photos to SHAME! Next time take cat2 pic must use DSLR liao Wahahaha!

Somehow I feel that the sub title "Stray Cats of Singapore" could be better. The cats are not really stray as they do have a home. And the community is their home. They should be called community cats of Singapore =D

26th Nov 2008. Wednesday. 3 more days to our Year End Party. Whoo~ Wow2 & I were busy wrapping the presents and preparing the score board to be used on that day. The rest of the members were unable to join us as they were held up in either meetings or trainings.

After about 2 hours, we were tired and things seemed to slowed with little progress, at this time, only Wow2 is progressing... This Wow2 always have energy for such things and her battery never run low one... Strange hor? Better than Wall-E. But the most unexpected thing happened at 12pm. 2 person came into the meeting room that is now so messy with wrapping paper all over the place... Hehehhh.. Oh! It's 2 of our team members! And they are here to help! Now things start to get going again, and with full steam ahead. Po-po! At 1:15pm we were done! Finished all the wrapping and completed the score board. Yeah! Fast mann! I really appreciate their efforts! Thanks mann!

Btw, din go to see cat2 today due to our busy schedule, but I found this picture of her taken sometime ago.. Cute hor? Grass also can ZZzzz...

More Than Just a Catnap

25th Nov 2008. Tuesday. Today on my way to work, i saw that green coffeeshop has been torn down for renovation???!!! Oh no!!! No more peanut porridge for me ;-(

On a positive note, at least it cuts the constant struggling between red (dong2) or green (me) coffeeshop during this period.

Cat2 likes to curl up like a ball when slping, I think it keeps her body warm. A few a times, I see her sneezing when slping.. hmm.. do cats sneeze? Maybe.. I think so, cats should be like humans and can fall sick at times.

Eventful lunch at Niakmath Restaurant and more

Today we went to Niakmath Restaurant for our lunch. Isn't it amazing? It's been 3 years working in the area, but this is the 1st time we are having our lunch there. Hope it turns out well..

Dong2's lamb chop, total cost $6, $1 for fries which he didn't finish, $1 for 2 fried eggs which he didn't eat, $1 for greenish tomatoes & peas which taste funny, $3 for mutton which Dong2 ate. Photograph of Dong2 showing off his accomplishment... Priceless =P
This is the curry that supposely cost 30cents.. In order not to waste it, Dong2 unleashed his 26yrs of cookery skills!
Wow2 join in the fun. Haven't they heard the saying "Too many cooks spoils the soup"? Hehehehhh

Noticed that there has been an increased in the number of missing pets in the area.. Why do pets run away? Could it be out of curiosity (curiosity kills the cat =P) or they lost their way? Or maybe they got kidnapped? Ok before I get carried away, here's some useful tips from SPCA webby if you lost ur pet.

1. Call the SPCA at 6287 5355. We take in dozens of lost animals each month. We’ll advertise it in the ‘Found’ section of the Straits Times Classifieds for two days. Unfortunately, we don’t have the space to keep lost animals indefinitely. Usually, if the animal hasn’t been claimed after the third or fourth day, it will be either put up for adoption or euthanased. So please report your missing pet to us as soon as possible. You should also advertise in the `Lost’ column of the Straits Times. The number to call is 1-800 6289-9988.

2. Call the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority at 1-800 6476- 1600. They might have picked up your missing pet.

3. Check the ‘Found’ column of the Straits Times Classifieds. Someone might have found your pet and advertised it!

18th Nov 2008. Today is Tuesday nia! We were going back after lunch when we saw cat2 in her usual slpy state.. Despite her lazyness, cat2 has been gaining popularity! Today I saw someone else having cat2 has wallpaper.. Wow cat2 is becoming a star!

Cat2 vs Crow

14th Nov 2008. Friday. After Mac Dee. On our way back, we saw another interesing sight. Cat2 vs crow. The big black crow is huge and evil looking~ We suspect the crow wanted to snatch cat2's fish earlier.. And there was already some tension between the 2 animals.

So wow2 put her corn cup on the ground and see if the crow will try again. Indeed, the crow was tempted to eat the cup of corn, but she is also aware that cat2 is watching from the other corner.

We can hear the crow calling "Caw Caw" and taunting furiously.

Cat2 also responsed with her growl "Purrrr"!

Cat2 is as cool as a cucumber, seating and watching the next move of the opponent. Sensing the danger if she (crow) approaches the cup of corn, she left to eat the 4 small corns on the grass before flying away. Not bad for a bird brain =P Cat2 wins! HURRAY!!

14th Nov 2008, Friday. At Macc Dee. Today we had ice cream at Mac Dee after lunch. We tried the new Choco Mac Flurry! Yummy!

Outside Mac Dee, we saw this cat playing with her catch, a lizard.. When we thought it's going to be a tragic end for the prey, the most unexpected happened! A kind Mac Dee staff, holding a pack of Friskies pick her up and carried her away. Yup, it's feeding time. Interestingly, before she was picked up, she meoww. I think she's trying to tell the guy she caught something.. but the guy couldn't comprehend what she's saying..

Anyway, we saw the cat coming back minutes later to look for the lizard but as you already know the lizard has already escaped.

On my way to MRT, saw this friendly german shepherd, she is trying to get our attention, so that we can play with her, hmm..
